Seattle’s supergroup, The Guessing Game, returns with a very personal, ambitious album with darker overtones than Holy Crow. We developed a few cool concepts, but nothing felt like it matched the despair captured on the record. While searching for inspiration, I stumbled upon the hauntingly beautiful work of Jim Kazanjian and knew I had to convince the band to license Jim’s untitled (object) even though it would put us way over budget. The discussion went something like:
Me: Look.
Band: Fuuuck.
We paired Jim’s piece with a soul crushing photo from Jason Tang and wrapped the entire package in desolate black and grey.
